I really enjoy going fishing with Sharky Miles and when I think about it, I really enjoy his company and the friendship that has developed after I fished with him for a week in November 2007 with Ian Botham and his son Liam.

We had been picking away at them for a few days, when Sharky had “the big afternoon” at the bottom of Number 10. In a few hours, we were six from seven.  Two of them were nice fish over 800, the rest between 3 and 5.  We even had one about 300 jump in the boat and try to kill Liam and the crewie. What a crazy afternoon, but through all this mayhem, Shark kept his cool and we turned our opportunities into successes.

I ran marlin charters for many years out of Brisbane and learnt that charter fishing is really entertainment, and when the entertainment stops, the crowd stops coming.

Sharky runs a good boat,  always has a good crew, and apart from being a bloody good fisherman … is a natural entertainer.
